The
Classic Touring Car Racing Club
organizes Championships for Saloon and Touring Cars from the fifties up
to 1989 and was founded in 1976 as the Classic Saloon Car Club of Great
Britain (CSCC GB) to cater for racers who used a "classic" car such as
the Austin A35 or Morris Minor. Moving on the club
developed the Historic Touring Cars Championship for cars built from
1960 to 1966 which included Alfa Romeo, Jaguar Mk2, Lotus Cortina,
Mustang etc. The Club further extended its Championships to
include pre 1974 Post Historic Touring Cars with cars such as the Ford
Capri, Mazda RX3, Dolomite Sprint and Alfa Sud and in 1994 introduced
Classic Group 1.
