In
September 2003 I met Patrick Allenby-Byrne.
He came to Spa for the six hours meeting with his son Joe and daughter-in-law,
Justine. He carried his camera all round the circuit, shooting at will
throughout the weekend, just as he had done at all levels of motorsport for over
30 years, he was a keen amateur photographer. Joe
built a Mk1 Cortina GT so that he could also take part in this event. And so
in 2004 the Throbnozzle Racing team of Joe, Patrick, Sandra, (Pat's wife) and
Justine returned to Spa, this time to see Joe and his Cortina compete.
This would be Patrick's last weekend of motor sports fun because in the spring of
2004 he was diagnosed with cancer, a battle he sadly lost on Saturday the 16th
October. These
pages are a celebration and tribute to Patrick and his last work. There are
some great shots here. We hope you enjoy them
